Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta in Alpharetta is seeking a Lifeguard II to assist the Aquatic Director, oversee the pool area, and model YMCA standards. This experienced aquatic staff role supports safety and customer service while promoting a positive, welcoming environment for members and guests.

As part of the Aquatics team, you will coordinate lifeguard placements, help with pool chemistry, and respond to incidents.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum 2 years of lifeguarding experience.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR, AED and First Aid.
• YMCA Leader Certificate obtained within 90 days.
• Pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening, MVR and references.
• Legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe aquatic area and supervises staff.
• Coordinates lifeguard placement and rotations.
• May open/close pools and assist with pool chemistry.
• May act as lifeguard during shift and model standards.
• Responds to incidents and documents them.
• Provides quality customer service to members.
• Assists with in-service trainings.
• Attends monthly in-service trainings.
