Job summary

The YMCA of Metropolitan Atlanta is seeking a Lifeguard II to assist the Aquatic Director in supervising the pool area. This experienced aquatic staff member supports policy, maintains safety, and guides other staff with a positive attitude on shift.

Responsibilities include maintaining a safe pool environment, coordinating lifeguard rotations, and assisting with pool chemistry and training sessions. Must pass background checks and be eligible to work in the US.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18.
• Minimum 2 years of lifeguarding experience.
• Current YMCA Lifeguard Certification, CPR, AED and First Aid.
• YMCA Leader Certificate to be obtained within 90 days.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and remain professional.

Responsibilities

• Assist with maintaining a safe aquatic area and provide real time feedback to staff.
• Coordinate lifeguard placements and rotations during shifts.
• Support opening/closing of pools and assist with pool chemistry and director tasks.
• Model standards as a lifeguard and respond to incidents.
• Serve as first point of contact for incidents and document them.
• Provide quality customer service to members and participants.
• Assist with in-service trainings and attend monthly trainings.
