Job summary

A leading swim school is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure the safety of patrons and students around the pool area. This role involves maintaining constant surveillance, emergency response, and providing high standards of customer service. Applicants must have valid Lifeguard and CPR/AED certifications, and prior swim instruction experience is required. Hours are flexible, allowing for work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Must maintain Lifeguard and Red Cross CPR/AED certifications.
• Prior swim instruction experience is necessary.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75lbs required.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs.
• Must complete lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards.

Lifeguard Job Description

Reports to: Aquatics Supervisor/Assistant General Manager

Description:

The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and students in and around the pool area and preventing and responding to emergencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.
• Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Make sure the pool area is always properly supervised and attended in accordance to American Red Cross standards.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications and Requirements

• Keep and maintain Lifeguard certification, Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adult, infant and swimmer.
• Previous swim instruction experience is required.
• Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding pre-requisites to American Red Cross standards.
• Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 75lbs.

Uniforms: Lifeguards are required to wear SafeSplash uniforms which include a white SafeSplash Lifeguard t-shirt and royal blue shorts. SafeSplash Swim School will provide one (1) t-shirt per calendar year per employee. Additional uniforms must be purchased by the employee from SafeSplash Swim School at or below cost. The uniform must be maintained in a clean, professional manner. If at any time a supervisor determines an employee’s uniform is inappropriate he/she may require the employee to purchase an additional uniform. If at any time a uniform is not being worn during assigned instructing hours a supervisor will ask you to put on your uniform. If no uniform is present you will be required to buy a new uniform or be sent home without pay.
