Job summary

SwimLabs Swim School in Colorado is seeking a dedicated Lifeguard responsible for ensuring safety and preventing emergencies in the pool area. The ideal candidate will maintain Red Cross certifications, provide emergency care, and ensure a safe environment for all patrons.

Lifeguard Job Description

Reports to: General Manager

The lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety of patrons and students in and around the pool area and for preventing and responding to emergencies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain constant surveillance of patrons in the pool area; act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of customers in the event of an emergency.
• Provide emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Prepare and maintain appropriate incident reports.
• Present professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintain a high standard of customer service.
• Perform various duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Make sure the pool area is always properly supervised and attended in accordance with American Red Cross standards.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications and Requirements

• Keep and maintain Red Cross Lifeguard certification and Red Cross CPR/AED certification for adults, infants, and swimmers.
• Must be able to successfully complete all lifeguarding prerequisites to American Red Cross standards.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 75 lbs.

Uniforms: Lifeguards are required to wear SafeSplash® uniforms which include a white SafeSplash® Lifeguard t‑shirt and royal blue shorts.

Hours: 3–38 hours per week

Compensation: $14.00 – $15.50 per hour (commensurate with experience and skills)
