Job summary

Pasco School District No. 1 is hiring a Bilingual Specialized Program Paraeducator- Life Skills at Sageview High School in Pasco, WA. The role includes supporting instruction, behavior interventions, and communication with students using AAC and CPI-based strategies.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, bilingual/biliterate Spanish, and the ability to meet one of several higher-education criteria or ETS paraeducator assessment. Fingerprint screening is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Bilingual and/or biliterate in Spanish required.
• Must meet one of: AA/AS degree or 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits or ETS paraeducator score.
• Prior paraeducator experience or related work preferred but not required.
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Support instruction and behavior interventions using ABA techniques as directed.
• Facilitate expressive/receptive communication with AAC tools under guidance.
• Use de-escalation strategies and follow behavior support and CPI techniques.
• Deliver small group or individual instruction and monitor engagement.
• Administer first aid to provide emergency care.
• Assist with needs related to working with special needs students (diapering, feeding, toileting, lifting).
