Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Client Development Manager to drive growth for its global Life Sciences practice. This role serves as a strategic partner to Life Sciences partners, using industry insight to target clients, identify pitch opportunities, and craft tailored storytelling for new and existing clients.

The position collaborates with partners, the GO team, and Marketing to shape strategic priorities, train teams, and develop high-impact materials. Occasional travel is required.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in practice management, business development or marketing in a large professional services firm.
• 2+ years as a manager.
• Exceptional communication, storytelling, and listening skills; able to engage executive stakeholders.
• Experience supporting senior executives on strategic priorities in fast-paced settings.
• Strategic thinker with strong analytical, organizational, and project ownership skills.
• Able to identify life sciences growth opportunities and deliver actionable solutions.
• Comfortable drawing insights from qualitative and quantitative data.
• Tech-savvy with AI awareness.
• Highly organized; manage multiple client workstreams and focus on outcomes.
• Adaptable and proactive in a matrixed, global environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare well-structured responses to RFPs/RFIs and craft high-quality marketing materials for life sciences pitches and proposals.
• Support key client development initiatives with internal stakeholders to tailor growth strategies.
• Monitor and track opportunities within the Life Sciences group and analyze client activity.
• Lead rankings, industry surveys, and awards (Chambers, Legal 500, etc.) across US segments, coordinating with Marketing.
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and facilitate collaboration across practice areas.
• Conduct competitive intelligence and market research to inform proposals and plans.
• Mentor team members and share best practices to enhance performance and development.
