Job summary

Goodwin is seeking a Client Development Manager to partner with Life Sciences partners, driving growth through targeted market insights and strategic storytelling. You will develop tailored pitches, manage RFPs/RFIs, and shape marketing materials to elevate the firm’s life sciences positioning.

You will lead client development initiatives, analyze opportunities, and collaborate with marketing and attorneys to maximize cross-selling and geographic coverage across the US.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in a practice management, business development or marketing role in a large professional services firm.
• 2+ years as a manager preferred.
• Exceptional communication, storytelling and listening skills with executives at the top level.
• Proven experience supporting senior executives on strategic priorities in fast-paced environments.
• Strategic thinker with analytical and project ownership skills.
• Able to identify growth opportunities in life sciences and deliver actionable solutions.
• Strong data interpretation and decision-making capabilities.
• Comfortable with AI and emerging technologies to drive client value.

Responsibilities

• Prepare structured, strategic responses to RFPs/RFIs and craft compelling pitches and materials.
• Drive key client development initiatives with internal stakeholders to grow relationships.
• Monitor and analyze Life Sciences opportunities and competitor activity to refine plans.
• Lead submissions and rankings for industry programs (Chambers, LMG Life Sciences, Legal 500, Best Lawyers).
• Identify cross-selling opportunities and coordinate across practice areas for deeper client engagement.
• Conduct competitive intelligence and market research to inform strategic planning.
• Mentor team members and share best practices to elevate performance.
