Job summary

Renovo Solutions is seeking a Life Science Engineer, Supervisor to lead the technical function at a Johnson & Johnson site under ELIS. You will supervise site engineers, own qualifications and drive site safety and quality standards.

The role combines hands‑on diagnostics with people leadership, ensuring platform coverage beyond any single engineer and coordinating with vendors and the Technical Center of Excellence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands‑on service experience on laboratory or analytical instrumentation required.
• 2+ years of supervisory or team‑lead experience required.
• Demonstrated depth across multiple instrument platforms (chromatography, mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, etc.).
• Ability to diagnose faults beyond the manufacturer service manual and challenge vendor diagnoses.
• Experience building or delivering a self‑perform service capability on a platform previously covered by an OEM preferred.
• Experience working inside a client facility as an embedded service provider preferred.
• Working knowledge of GxP, calibration traceability and data integrity expectations.
• Experience with a CMMS and data reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the site Life Science Engineers and technical staff, including work allocation and daily direction.
• Assist with hiring input, onboarding, performance management, and development.
• Own the platform qualification standard and sign‑off on who is qualified.
• Build platform coverage depth to avoid single points of failure.
• Identify training needs and coordinate with the Technical Training Specialist.
• Manage technical coverage during absences, shutdowns, holidays, and outages.
• Act as final technical escalation point for diagnostics and repair on site.
