Job summary

LifeLink Foundation in Norcross, GA, is seeking a Surgical Coordinator I to support organ and tissue recovery, preservation, and packaging, coordinating with OR staff and multidisciplinary teams to maximize donor organ viability.

The role requires sterile technique, documentation, on-call coverage, and travel as needed; certifications include CTP, CST, CTBS or EMT with the ability to obtain within a year.

Qualifications

• Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP), Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), Certified Tissue Bank Specialist (CTBS), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or ability to obtain CTP within one year.
• Advanced technical, organizational, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills required.
• Current valid state driver license with a good driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate organ recovery, preservation, and packaging in line with policies and regulations.
• Provide on-call coverage for donor procurement and organ preservation activities.
• Prepare and assist OR staff during the recovery process for coordinated workflow.
• Maintain sterile technique and infection control throughout procedures.
• Ensure proper documentation and chain of custody for specimens.
• Communicate with hospital, transplant teams, and pathology/lab personnel.
