Job summary

Lifebanc, the federally designated organ, eye and tissue donation organization, seeks a Surgical Recovery Coordinator II in Cleveland, OH. The role supports 24/7 organ preservation and donor procedures, combining technical skill with teamwork.

You will work with transplant teams, ensure sterile technique, and assist in organ procurement while maintaining documentation and adherence to AOPO/UNOS standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program with 1 year of OPO experience.
• High school diploma required; BLS certification (AHA) preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Covers assigned shifts on the organ preservation call schedule to assure 24-hour coverage, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Effectively communicates with transplant surgeons and coordinators to provide information for organ recovery and preservation.
• Provides on-site organ recovery and preservation support for organs to donor surgeon teams.
• Preserves, packages, and labels organs to be delivered for transplant.
• Assists the donor surgeons during organ removal as first assistant.
• Documents pertinent organ preservation information thoroughly and accurately.
• Prepare for organ recovery in the operating room and ensure proper supplies.
