Job summary

Pima Animal Care Center, part of Pima County, seeks an ARK Coordinator to oversee daily care, movement, and placement of animals in neglect and other complex cases. You will supervise ARK staff, coordinate shelter movement, and liaise with internal teams and rescue partners.

When ARK activity is lower, you will strengthen the rescue program by building relationships with local partners and supporting placement for medically vulnerable animals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible program administration experience or related.
• Three years of experience with Pima County as Animal Care Technician or Animal Care Field Officer.
• One year as an Animal Care Placement Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Oversees adoption, foster, and placement programs with efficient workflows.
• Leads placement supervisors and counselors; provides training and support.
• Delivers customer service to adopters, fosters, and rescue partners.
• Uses data to assess performance; develops improvement strategies.
• Prepares reports on placement activities and outcomes.
• Handles dogs with behavioral/medical challenges to support safe placements.
• Engages fosters/adopters with education on care and integration.
• Supports placement-focused events and community outreach.
• Maintains accurate placement records in the shelter database.
• Collaborates with medical, Animal Protection Services, and operations teams.
