Job summary

The Animal Resource Center seeks a Rescue Coordinator to support animal welfare initiatives through adoption facilitation, behavior assessment, social media management, and public outreach. This role acts as a liaison among the shelter, rescue partners, and the public to promote humane animal care and education.

You will manage partnerships, conduct behavioral evaluations, run social media campaigns, and help organize events.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 2 years relevant work experience.
• Must be able to lift and carry large animals.
• Knowledge of social media platforms and best practices.
• Completion of animal behavior-related courses.
• Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate adoptions and rescue partnerships.
• Oversee enrichment and behavioral evaluation.
• Conduct public outreach and community education.
• Administer social media campaigns and pet listings.
• Maintain records in shelter software.
• Coordinate rescue transfers between agencies.
• Collaborate with veterinary and shelter staff.
• Organize events and donation drives.
• Evaluate and improve rescue/adoption operations.
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards.
• Shelter daily care tasks such as feeding and cleaning.
