Job summary

ID.me is seeking a Software Development Engineer II for its Life Hub team in Mountain View, CA. The role is full-stack, spanning backend Java REST APIs and React/Next.js frontend work.

You will turn eligibility rules and user data into life-event use cases and ensure secure, scalable access across platforms. Collaborate with product, design, and API teams to implement models and data flows, with a focus on accessibility and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 0-2 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in at least one modern backend language (Java) and REST APIs.
• Experience with a modern frontend framework (React or Next.js).
• Solid fundamentals in data structures, debugging, and automated testing.
• Ability to work on well-defined tickets with pair programming.
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.
• Experience with AI tooling to accelerate development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build Life Hub Eligibility Logic turning attributes into eligible life events and use cases.
• Implement use-case and eligibility models mapping resources and conditions.
• Support discovery and access flows ensuring lenient discovery with hard access gates.
• Integrate with Persons, Profiles, and Developer Portal APIs.
• Build and maintain React/Next.js UI for Life Hub experiences.
• Track attribute gaps and coordinate with API teams.
• Collaborate with Design and Product to shape Life Hub ontology and roadmap.
• Ensure performance, accessibility, and cross-browser reliability.
• Provide production support and fix incidents and bugs.
