Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland is seeking a Coordinator (EMT) for Life Flight Operations and Central Dispatch. You will manage start-to-finish call handling, coordinate aircraft and ground unit movements, and serve as a key liaison with EMS and partner agencies.

A strong EMS background and dispatch experience are required. This role involves day/evening shifts in a 72-hour biweekly cycle, with weekends and holidays rotating.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Current Ohio EMT certification and valid Ohio driver’s license.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• At least 1 year dispatching experience in 911/public safety or EMS.
• Strong map-reading, navigation skills and geographic knowledge of Ohio.
• Proficient with CAD, flight dispatch software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for internal/external customers and manage start-to-finish call handling.
• Dispatch and monitor movement of aircraft and critical care ground units.
• Coordinate communication and resource access for burn, cardiac, neurology, pediatric and trauma services.
• Support EMS and Fire Departments with critical needs; ensure safety of crew and patients.
