Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Life Enrichment Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in creating engaging programs for Independent Living and Assisted Living residents in Mechanicsville, Virginia.

You will design, lead, and coordinate multi-level activities, assess resident interests, and collaborate with the program team to maintain calendars, records, and successful outings while promoting resident and family satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or experience; entry level position with 1-3 years experience highly desired.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Flexible, imaginative, engaging and have a passion for working with seniors.
• Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be in good physical condition and be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Life Enrichment Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing activities for IL/AL residents.
• Lead 6-7 high quality programs per day.
• Survey residents to determine interests and satisfaction with programs.
• Coordinate with the program team to plan calendars, events, and outings.
• Develop relationships with residents and families to promote participation and satisfaction.
• Document and maintain all required records; organize resident council meetings.
• Recruit, coordinate, and oversee a robust volunteer program.
• Promote programs by posting notices and posters.
• Arrange chairs, tables, and equipment for activities and return to normal after.
