Job summary

Harmony Senior Services seeks a Life Enrichment Activities Assistant in Lorton, VA to support the Life Enrichment Director in creating engaging programs for Independent Living and Assisted Living neighborhoods. You will plan monthly activities, lead multiple programs daily, and coordinate with the team to ensure smooth events and high resident participation.

The role requires a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 1–3 years experience, strong organizational skills, a valid driver’s license,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and/or experience; entry level position with 1-3 years experience highly desired.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Flexible, consistent, imaginative, engaging and have a passion for working with seniors.
• Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be in good physical condition and be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assists with developing, planning, and implementing a monthly program of activities and supplies based on Harmony signature programs and person-centered interests.
• Leads 6-7 high quality programs per day.
• Assists in surveying residents to complete their interests and satisfaction with activities.
• Coordinates with the program team to plan calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.
• Develops relationships with residents and families to promote participation and satisfaction.
• Assists in documenting and maintaining all records as required.
• Assists in organizing resident council meetings and programming areas.
