Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Life Enrichment Activities Assistant to support the Life Enrichment Director in designing and implementing a wide variety of programs for Independent Living and Assisted Living neighborhoods.

You will lead 6-7 high quality programs daily, survey residents to tailor offerings, and work with the program team to plan calendars and outings for the upcoming month. A passion for seniors, strong organization, and flexible scheduling are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or experience; entry level with 1-3 years highly desired.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Flexible, consistent, imaginative, engaging and have a passion for working with seniors.
• Experience organizing, conducting, and planning programs and activities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must be in good physical condition and be able to sit, stand, bend, kneel, walk, and lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist Life Enrichment Director in designing, creating, initiating, facilitating, and implementing a wide variety of programs for IL and AL neighborhoods.
• Leads 6-7 high quality programs per day.
• Survey residents to complete the Resident Life Profile and determine interests and satisfaction.
• Coordinate with program team to plan calendars, events, and outings for the upcoming month.
• Develop relationships with residents and families to encourage participation and satisfaction.
• Organize and maintain records and assist with resident council meetings.
