Job summary

The Department of Marine Resources is seeking an Office Specialist I in the Licensing Division, Augusta. This full-time, year-round role supports complex administrative tasks, requires independent judgment, and involves assisting harvesters and dealers via in-person, phone, and email inquiries.

You will work with LEEDS software, MS Word/Excel, mail merges for bulk mailings, and daily reporting. Strong customer service and attention to detail are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualifications involve office support experience and ability to use independent judgment.
  • Proficiency with Word, Outlook, and Excel (including mail merge) is expected.
  • Experience handling transactions and customer interactions is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Answer a 5-line phone system, take messages and forward calls.
  • Provide high level customer service in all interactions.
  • Receive and greet customers and determine needs.
  • Process licenses in LEEDS and prepare materials for mailing.
  • Maintain cash handling procedures and deposits.
