Job summary

King County is seeking a Licensing Specialist to provide accurate guidance on vehicle, vessel, taxi, TNC driver licensing, and related processes. The role requires strong customer service, data entry proficiency, and careful attention to regulatory details.

This on-site position offers interaction with diverse customers and supports a fast-paced office environment. The incumbent will perform data entry, document review for compliance, and process payments while upholding county policies.

Qualifications

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and cash handling responsibilities.
  • Coordinate many tasks with attention to detail and follow-up.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate guidance on licensing requirements by phone, in person, and by mail for vehicles, vessels, taxis, TNC drivers, process servers, and pet licensing.
  • Perform production-level data entry, filing, sorting using Word and Excel.
  • Examine documents to verify titling/transfer requirements and ensure completeness.
  • Inform customers about licensing policies, procedures, codes, and regulations.
  • Problem solve with urgency while delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Obtain, monitor, and organize data; conduct information searches as needed.
  • Collect and reconcile payments and balance daily cash per procedures.
  • Contribute to Licensing team with innovative ideas and a can-do attitude.
