Job summary

ASPCA Community Medicine seeks a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join the Bronx-based Community Veterinary Clinic. You will collaborate with veterinarians and staff to provide spay/neuter and preventive care, with duties ranging from anesthesia support to client education.

The role emphasizes compassionate animal care and community service in underserved NYC areas. Must hold an active New York State Veterinary Technician License (or obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• Must be a NYS-licensed Veterinary Technician or eligible for licensure within 30 days.
• Experience with anesthesia/surgery preferred.
• Strong communication and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Care for 35-40 cats and dogs per day in spay/neuter surgery.
• Administer injections including anesthetics, pain meds, vaccines.
• Intubate, place IV catheters, and administer fluids as needed.
• Monitor vital signs pre-, peri-, and post-operatively.
• Maintain accurate patient records and logs.
