Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks Third Mates to lead safe operations on our fleet along inland and coastal waterways across the East Coast, Pacific Northwest, and major rivers. You will operate and maintain passenger launches, stand watches, and support hotel teams to deliver five-star guest service.

We offer strong simulator-based training, comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision and 401(k) with match, and a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off schedule as a full-time exempt position.

Qualifications

• USCG Master’s license (min 100 GRT) with Near Coastal endorsement.
• TWIC credential required.
• Piloting/boat handling on coastal and river waterways: 6+ months, preferred 1 year.
• Self-disciplined work habits and grooming.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Pre-employment drug test and random testing.
• Able to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Safe launch operations per standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of vessel spaces.
• Stand helm, security, and gangway watches in rotation.
• Perform vessel cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics.
• Stand piloting watches under Captain or Mate.
• Assist Engine Room Attendant with machinery upkeep.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in guest service.
• Maintain logs, reports, and administrative records.
• Maintain professional grooming and uniform appearance.
