Job summary

American Cruise Lines invites qualified candidates for a Third Mate position aboard our fleet operating across inland and coastal waterways. You will assist with watch-standing, vessel operations, and guest service while maintaining the highest safety and professional standards.

We offer simulator-based training, on-board accommodations, meals, and a competitive daily rate. Expect a structured cruise schedule with six weeks on, three weeks off, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• USCG Master’s license with Near Coastal endorsement required.
• TWIC credential required.
• Piloting and boat-handling experience on coastal and river waters preferred.
• Self-disciplined habits and personal grooming essential.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities essential.
• Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing required.
• Ability to perform essential functions with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Safe launch operations in accordance with standards.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Stand helm, security, and gangway watches in deckhand rotation.
• Perform vessel cleaning, sanitation, maintenance, and logistics.
• Stand piloting watches under captain or mate guidance.
• Assist engine room with machinery maintenance.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
• Maintain logs and administrative records.
• Maintain professional grooming and uniform appearance.
