Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited master's level speech-language curriculum certified by ASHA.
• Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state.
• Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents, set treatment goals, implement plans, and document services.
• Coordinate adaptive communication devices and train residents in use.
• Select activities suited to each resident's capacity and interests.
• Consult with rehab team to choose appropriate therapeutic regimens.
• Instruct residents in skills for participation and monitor progress.
• Adapt programs to individual resident needs and progress.
• Attend care and staffing meetings and contribute to discussions.
• Conduct training programs for medical, nursing and other staff in speech therapy.
• Supervise supportive personnel per state and professional standards.
• Maintain and report equipment needs and upkeep.
• Ensure residents and families receive high-quality compassionate service.
