The position requires an active IL license and a demonstrated ability to make independent decisions, maintain composure, and interact effectively with customers, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold current, unencumbered RN or LPN license in Illinois.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and procedures.
• Ability to make independent decisions when warranted.
• Ability to deal tactfully with customers, families, visitors, personnel, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
• Personable, enthusiastic, resourceful, and able to cope with stress.

Responsibilities

• Develop a written plan of care identifying customer problems/needs.
• Make daily rounds to ensure nursing personnel perform duties and follow procedures; conduct rounds with physicians as needed.
• Create and maintain a warm, personal, calm atmosphere throughout the department.
• Prepare and administer medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
• Address any other matters pertinent to the customers’ care and well-being.
