Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA).
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in Illinois or eligibility.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Board eligible and able to complete board exam at the next date.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, families, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows the PT plan of care; adjusts treatment based on patient response after communicating with the evaluator.
• Documents according to CTSCP67 policy.
• Completes annual education to comply with DNV hip/knee program requirements.
• Follows treatment plan established by PT.
• Provides therapeutic exercise, gait/balance training, ultrasound.
• Administers electrical stimulation.
• Performs aquatic therapy when appropriate.
• Completes daily documentation and EMR charging.
• Coordinates with PT on interventions.
• Communicates progress and recommendations to the referring provider.
