Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking licensed Professional Engineers to serve as seller-doer engineers in the Saint Petersburg, FL market. You will develop and manage a client book for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services, while also handling technical duties and sealing reports.

Qualifications

Active PE license in the posting state or ability to obtain by comity within 90 days.
6+ years in construction materials testing, geotechnical engineering, or special inspection with client-facing responsibility.
Track record of bringing in work or a credible plan to generate work in this market.
Comfortable pricing, negotiating, and saying no to a bad contract.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a book of clients—general contractors, owners, developers, and design firms—for materials testing, special inspection, and geotechnical services.
Scope, price, and write proposals; negotiate terms; convert opportunities into signed work.
Serve as engineer of record on won projects: review field/lab data, resolve failures, seal reports/letters.
Direct technicians and inspectors on projects and coordinate with the laboratory on testing schedules.
