Job summary

Visionworks in Albany, NY is seeking an Ophthalmic Dispensing Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense eyewear and accessories.

The role requires maintaining state licensure, delivering accurate product information, using the SERVE sales process, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail setting. This is a full-time position with pay in the range of $24.50–$36.75 per hour, in line with experience and local market.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, the analysis and interpretation of optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene practices.
• Provide customers with accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and services.
• Inform customers of insurance coverage and out-of-pocket charges.
• Use the SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lens options.
• Communicate with Lab and Optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with precise measurements and adjustments.
• Maintain a clean dispensing area.
• Verify customer pricing accuracy.
• Maintain licensure per State guidelines.
