Visionworks in New York is seeking a part-time Ophthalmic Dispensing Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection, fitting and dispensing while interpreting prescriptions and coordinating with labs and optometrists.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensure as an ophthalmic dispenser required by state.
• Ability to explain optical products and prescription interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection and fittings.
• Adhere to social distancing, cleaning and hygiene protocols.
• Provide accurate product information on frames, lenses and services.
• Inform customers about insurance benefits and any charges not covered.
• Use SERVE process to identify needs and recommend lenses.
• Communicate with Lab and Optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with accurate measurements.
• Maintain a clean, organized dispensing area and accurate pricing.
• Maintain state licensure compliance as required by guidelines.
• Support Apprentice Opticians with guidance as applicable.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Participate in trainings to meet departmental goals and ongoing requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, workstations and facility daily.
• Take on additional responsibilities as business needs change.
