Job summary

VisionWorks in the United States is seeking an Optical Dispenser to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense products. The role requires ophthalmic dispensing licensure and strong knowledge of frames, lenses and insurance benefits.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Ability to explain optical products, lens selections and prescription interpretation.
• Excellent customer service and sales skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection.
• Ensure compliance with social distancing and hygiene protocols.
• Provide accurate product information on frames, lenses and services.
• Explain insurance benefits for Third-Party customers and inform about extra charges.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to determine needs and recommend lenses.
• Interpret prescriptions and communicate with Lab and Optometrist.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with accurate measurements.
• Maintain a clean dispensing area.
• Ensure pricing accuracy for retail customers.
• Maintain license requirements per state guidelines.
• Mentor Apprentices when applicable.
• Follow HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Participate in training and keep equipment clean.
• Perform additional duties as needed.
