Job summary

Visionworks is seeking an Optical Dispensing Assistant in New York, Part Time (0–19 hours per week). You will assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense frames and accessories with accuracy, while adhering to HIPAA and safety standards.

You will provide product information, coordinate with labs and optometrists, and ensure correct pricing. The role requires a High School Diploma or Equivalent and state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, the analysis and interpretation of optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent (as stated).

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in frame and lens selection.
• Provide accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and services.
• Ensure pricing accuracy for retail customers.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and privacy policies.
• Coordinate with Lab and Optometrist to ensure prescription accuracy.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Adhere to social distancing and hygiene protocols.
