Job summary

Visionworks in New York seeks an eyewear specialist to assist customers with frame and lens selection, interpret prescriptions, and dispense optical products. You will use the SERVE sales process to identify needs and coordinate with labs and optometrists for accuracy.

The role requires state licensure in ophthalmic dispensing, strong communication skills, and the ability to work onsite with a customer-focused approach. Training and HIPAA compliance are integral to daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge and demonstrated abilities in explaining optical products, services, the analysis and interpretation of optical prescriptions, fitting and dispensing.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection while maintaining social distance.
• Provide accurate product information regarding frames, lens selections and services.
• Explain benefits and charges related to third-party insurance.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify customer needs and recommend lenses.
• Analyze and interpret patients' prescriptions and communicate with labs/optometrist for accuracy.
• Sell, fit and dispense frames and accessories with precise measurements and adjustments.
• Maintain a clean and orderly dispensing area.
• Maintain license requirements per state guidelines.
• Adhere to HIPAA and privacy policies.
