Job summary

Visionworks of America, Inc. is seeking a part-time Optical Associate to assist customers with frame and lens selection, fitting and dispensing eyewear. You will interpret prescriptions, explain lens options, and help customers understand benefits and insurance coverage.

Ideal candidates hold a state ophthalmic dispensing license, have strong communication skills, and can work onsite with attention to accuracy, privacy and professional appearance.

Qualifications

• Must have and maintain applicable state licensure for ophthalmic dispensing.
• Knowledge of optical products, lens options and prescription interpretation.
• Ability to read and follow HIPAA privacy policies and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with frame and lens selection per social distance guidelines.
• Provide accurate product information and explain benefits of frames, lenses and services.
• Coordinate with third-party insurers to explain coverage and potential charges.
• Utilize SERVE sales process to identify needs and recommend lenses and frames.
• Ensure accurate measurements, fittings, verifications and proper dispensing.
