Job summary

National Vision's Eyeglass World stores is seeking an Optical Specialist to deliver warm, confident service and precise eyewear finishing. You will guide customers through frame selection, assist with pre-exam support, and ensure readiness for pickup with brand-aligned presentation.

You will handle finishing, quality checks, order entry, and smooth transitions between exam, finish and pickup while upholding Eyeglass World standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
• 1+ year experience in optical, retail, sales, or customer service (Required)
• Active dispensing license as required by the state
• Strong multitasking, time management and organizational skills (Required)
• Clear communication and the ability to educate customers effectively (Required)
• Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction at every interaction (Required)
• Bilingual abilities (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, confident, and personalized service at every stage of the visit
• Guide customers through eyewear selection, final fitting, and product education
• Ensure customers leave feeling confident in both their eyewear and their experience
• Assist with patient flow and pre exam screenings to support Optometrists
• Help ensure smooth transitions between exam, finish, and pickup moments
• Serve as a calm, knowledgeable presence throughout the customer journey
• Perform finishing work including final adjustments, inspections and quality checks
• Ensure all eyewear meets Eyeglass World standards for fit, function, and presentation
• Prepare orders for pickup and deliver polished, brand aligned handoff
• Support order entry, tracking, and timely completion
• Maintain organized, clean, and efficient finish and retail areas
• Identify and resolve quality or service issues proactively
• Model Eyeglass World service standards, tone, and behaviors in every interaction
• Uphold visual, experiential, and operational brand standards in the store
• Partner with the store team to deliver a consistent and elevated experience
