Job summary

AEG Vision in San Francisco seeks a Licensed Optician to provide eyewear solutions and exceptional patient care. You will assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings, verify prescriptions, and ensure accurate measurements and proper fit.

You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of lens technologies, insurance eligibility, and product options while delivering a warm, consultative experience. This full-time role requires state licensure and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• State licensure to dispense eyewear and provide patient care.
• Experience in optical dispensing and frame fitting.
• Knowledge of insurance benefits and lens options.
• Strong communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients in selecting frames, lenses, and coatings based on prescriptions and lifestyle.
• Ensure proper frame fit, measurements, and lens dispensing accuracy.
• Educate patients on lens treatments, care, and warranty coverage.
• Enter prescription data into EHR/ALE and manage order status communications.
• Collaborate with technicians and managers to resolve order issues promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the optical displays and work area.
