Job summary

National Vision is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to lead the eyeglass department, drive sales and supervise staff. You will forecast staffing needs, recruit and retain a high-caliber team while maintaining quality standards and policy compliance.

The role emphasizes customer service excellence, merchandising execution, and mentorship of junior opticians in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Maintain Optical license as required by the state.
• Optical sales experience; supervising experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Strong understanding of store operations and standards.
• Excellent communication for team management.
• Organizational skills for planning and progress tracking.
• ABO and NCLE certification.

Responsibilities

• Drives, monitors, and achieves profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
• Oversees eyeglass department efficiency and compliance with policies.
• Provides outstanding customer service and ensures the same from associates.
• Ensures quality standards are met across operations.
• Manages merchandising, pricing promotions, and brand initiatives.
• Supervises Opticians and Sales associates and daily functions.
• Assists GM with staffing forecasts, recruiting and retention.
• Leads and coaches staff toward sales and service goals.
• Mentors Apprentice Opticians where permitted by law.
