Job summary

National Vision, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Eyeglass Manager to lead the eyeglass department and drive sales in a fast‑paced retail environment. You will supervise Opticians and CL Sales associates, ensuring high service standards and compliant operations across stores.

The role emphasizes staff development, forecasting staffing needs, and mentoring junior opticians to support growth and exceptional customer experiences. A current optical license and ABO/NCLE certification are required.

Qualifications

• Maintain Optical license as required by the state.
• Optical sales experience. Supervising experience is preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Sound understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Strong communication skills (both oral and written) for effective management of teams.
• Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals.
• Ability to analyze, create, and understand financial reports.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
• ABO and NCLE Certified

Responsibilities

• Drives, monitors, and achieves profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
• Monitors retail operating costs, budgets, and resources.
• Oversees the eyeglass department for efficiency and compliance with policies and guidelines.
• Identifies opportunities and creates action plans for improvement.
• Conveys commitment to outstanding customer service and ensures the same from associates.
• Ensures quality standards are met.
• Executes merchandising and marketing initiatives according to Brand and Company standards.
• Supervises Opticians and CL Sales associates and ensures day-to-day tasks are completed.
• Assists the General Manager with staffing forecasts, recruiting, and retention.
• Leads and coaches associates toward sales and customer service goals.
• Mentors Apprentice Opticians as permitted by law.
