Job summary

Warby Parker is seeking an Optical Supervisor to join our team in the Waverly area. You will lead the in-house optical team, help open/close the store, and ensure superior customer service while maintaining store operations.

Your optical expertise will inform customer choices and ensure exceptional eyewear fitting and adjustments. You are a licensed dispensing optician (or ABO-certified where required) with at least 2 years of supervisory experience, passionate about eyewear, and able to thrive

Qualifications

• Must be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license or ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states, with 2+ years of experience, including supervisor responsibilities.
• Passionate about eyewear and retail industries.
• Clear, effective, and professional communicator who can explain terms to customers.
• Dedicated to going above-and-beyond to make customers and teammates happy.
• Energetic, positive team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Extremely detail-oriented, cool under pressure, able to juggle multiple responsibilities.

• Not on the LEIE list.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with customers to help meet all eyewear needs.
• Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear with accuracy.
• Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements.
• Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
• Set store up for success by executing operational and staff procedures to Warby Parker standards.
• Drive store vision and sales by providing exceptional service on the floor.
• Lead and mentor the Optical team, including Optician Apprentice Program participants.
• Maintain store systems, inventory databases, and business operations.
• Foster a productive, positive employee culture in the store.
