Job summary

VHS Rehabilitation seeks an Occupational Therapist to join our Virginia team across multiple locations including Newport News and surrounding cities. Full-time, part-time, and PRN roles are available with daily pay.

The OT will assess patients, develop individualized plans, educate on adaptive equipment, document care, and collaborate with families and the care team to maximize independence and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Virginia.
• Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Strong ability to assess, analyze, and utilize clinical data for decision-making and performance improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify ADL challenges.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve independence, safety, and quality of life.
• Help patients relearn or adapt skills for daily living, including self-care, work, school, or leisure activities.
• Recommend, train, and educate patients on adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on findings and goals.
• Collaborate with families, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with standards.
• Participate in care planning meetings and discharge planning.

Qualifications for Occupational Therapist:

• A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state ofVirginia.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Strong ability to assess, analyze, and utilize clinical data to support effective decision-making and performance improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
