Job summary

VHS Rehabilitation in Virginia is seeking an Occupational Therapist to provide skilled therapy across daily living activities. The role offers full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities with daily pay and multiple VA locations including Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Gloucester, and Kilmarnock.

The OT will assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment, educate on adaptive equipment, document progress, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote independence

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Virginia OT license or eligibility for licensure.
• Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Strong ability to assess, analyze, and utilize clinical data for decision-making.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient computer skills including Office/Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify challenges in activities of daily living.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve independence, safety, and quality of life.
• Help patients relearn or adapt skills for daily living, work, school, or leisure activities.
• Recommend, train, and educate patients on adaptive equipment and assistive technology.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans based on clinical findings and goals.
• Collaborate with families, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation per regulatory standards.
• Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to discharge planning.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.
• Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care.

Qualifications for Occupational Therapist:

• A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Virginia.
• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Strong ability to assess, analyze, and utilize clinical data to support effective decision-making and performance improvement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
