Job summary

VHS Rehabilitation in Virginia offers Rehab Technician roles across multiple locations, including Newport News, Hampton, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Gloucester and Kilmarnock. Full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities with Daily Pay are available, and compensation is $18-$23 per hour all-inclusive.

The Rehab Technician supports the therapy team under PT/OT/SLP, assists residents with mobility, prepares therapy spaces, and helps maintain accurate therapy records in a resident-centered care

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• Previous healthcare or skilled nursing experience preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility and therapeutic exercises.

Responsibilities

• Assist PT, OT, and SLP staff during therapy sessions.
• Prepare, set up, and clean therapy equipment and treatment areas.
• Escort residents to and from therapy sessions safely.
• Monitor resident safety during therapy activities and report changes to staff.
• Document resident participation and assist in therapy records.
• Maintain clean, organized therapy spaces and equipment storage.
• Support therapists in encouraging resident engagement and participation.

Responsibilities for Rehab Technician:

• Assist Physical Therapy (PT), Occupational Therapy (OT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) staff during therapy sessions.
• Prepare, set up, and clean therapy equipment and treatment areas to ensure safety and readiness for use.
• Escort residents to and from therapy sessions safely and promptly.
• Monitor resident safety during therapy activities and report any changes in condition to licensed therapy staff.
• Document resident participation and assist in maintaining accurate therapy records as directed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and efficient therapy spaces and equipment storage areas.
• Support therapists in encouraging resident engagement, motivation, and participation in rehabilitation activities.

Qualifications for Rehab Technician:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• Previous experience in healthcare or skilled nursing preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to safely assist residents with mobility, transfers, and therapeutic exercises.
