Job summary

VHS Home Health Care is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to deliver therapeutic interventions under the supervision of a licensed OT. This full-time role supports residents across locations including Hampton, Newport News, Williamsburg, Yorktown, Gloucester, Kilmarnock, Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

We offer full-time, part-time, and PRN opportunities with a competitive pay rate of $35–$45 per hour, all-inclusive.

Qualifications

• Current CPR certification required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice required.

Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist with resident evaluations and ongoing assessments, reporting progress and treatment outcomes.
• Guide residents through therapeutic, self-care, and functional activities to improve independence and daily living skills.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
• Modify treatment interventions in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist based on resident progress and physician orders.
• Educate residents and families on treatment goals, home programs, and the use of adaptive equipment.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate resident progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Current CPR certification required.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
