Job summary

VHS Rehabilitation is seeking a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join a dedicated rehabilitation team in Virginia. The OTA will work under an licensed Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans and support residents in achieving independence, with a supportive, values-driven workplace.

Opportunities include full-time, part-time, and PRN roles, with daily pay and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the AMA/OTA program accreditation.
• Current license to practice as an OTA in the state of Virginia.
• Current CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under supervision of a licensed OT.
• Assist with resident evaluations and ongoing assessments, reporting progress and outcomes.
• Guide residents through therapeutic, self-care, and functional activities to improve independence.

Up to $35-$45/hour (all inclusive)

Guided by our core values ofPassion, Respect, and Excellence, the Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic interventions that help residents achieve their highest level of function.

Responsibilities for Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA):

• Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.

• Assist with resident evaluations and ongoing assessments, reporting progress and treatment outcomes.

• Guide residents through therapeutic, self-care, and functional activities to improve independence and daily living skills.

• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, nursing staff, social workers, and other interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.

• Modify treatment interventions in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist based on resident progress and physician orders.

• Educate residents and families on treatment goals, home programs, and the use of adaptive equipment.

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and communicate resident progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist.

• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, care planning, and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications for Occupational Therapist Assistant (OTA):

• Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Assistant program accredited by the American Medical Association (AMA).

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a practicing Occupational Therapist Assistant in a healthcare setting preferred.

• Current Occupational Therapist Assistant license in the state of practice required.

• Current CPR certification required.

• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
