VHS Rehabilitation is seeking an Occupational Therapist to deliver skilled therapy to residents, focusing on independence and participation in daily activities. The role emphasizes collaboration with an interdisciplinary team and documentation aligned with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Current Virginia OT license or eligibility required.
• Minimum of one year of relevant clinical experience preferred.
• Strong ability to assess, analyze, and apply data for decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify challenges in activities of daily living.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve independence and safety.
• Assist patients in relearning daily living skills and using adaptive equipment.
• Educate patients on use of assistive technology and equipment.
• Monitor progress and adjust plans based on findings and goals.
• Collaborate with families and interdisciplinary team for optimal outcomes.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation per standards.

Responsibilities for Occupational Therapist:

• Assess patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify challenges in performing activities of daily living.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans designed to improve independence, safety, and quality of life.

• Help patients relearn or adapt skills needed for daily living, including self-care, work, school, or leisure activities.

• Recommend, train, and educate patients on the use of adaptive equipment and assistive technology.

• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans based on clinical findings and patient goals.

• Collaborate with families, physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to support optimal patient outcomes.

• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and facility standards.

• Participate in care planning meetings and contribute to discharge planning and continuity of care.

Qualifications for Occupational Therapist:

• A bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program is required.

• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in the state ofVirginia.

• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant clinical experience preferred.

• Strong ability to assess, analyze, and utilize clinical data to support effective decision-making and performance improvement.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
