Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Complete resale, refinance, or builder escrow transactions and prepare all closing documents.
  • Read and understand title commitments.
  • Resolve title issues (e.g., liens, encumbrances, judgments).
  • Understand real estate regulations and guidelines.
  • Coordinate closings between all parties to escrow.
  • Return calls and emails promptly; maintain communications.
  • Maintain cordial relationships with lenders, developers, buyers and sellers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Licensed Escrow Officer - Commercial Transactions

SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The escrow officer performs advanced duties related to all facets of escrow processing. They are required to exercise exemplary independent judgement and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to handle any situation that may arise during the escrow process.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ability to complete resale, refinance, or builder escrow transactions, including preparation of all documents associated with the processing and closing of escrow, conveyance of title, recording of documents, clearing of title requirements and issuance of title insurance
  • Ability to read and understand title commitments
  • Ability to resolve title issues (e.g., corrective deeds, vesting, federal tax liens, abstracts of judgment, bankruptcies, mineral rights, boundary disputes and encroachments)
  • Understands real estate regulations and guidelines
  • Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines
  • Coordinates the closing between all parties to the escrow
  • Returns all calls, voicemails, and e-mails in a timely manner
  • Performs other duties as assigned; and
  • Maintains cordial relationship with lenders, developers, builders, buyers, and sellers to promote/solicit business.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
  • High school degree or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years escrow-related experience required
  • Knowledge of SoftPro preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills -- both written and verbal
  • Business fundamental: maintains privacy and confidentiality of company information, as well as that of customers and co-workers
