Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or related field.
• Experience in behavioral health is preferred but not required.
• Ability to make decisions with confidential and sensitive information.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and seek supervision when needed.
• Knowledge of human behavior and rehabilitation approaches for substance use disorders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular alcohol and drug abuse counseling sessions and group sessions.
• Orient patients to treatment program operations and procedures.
• Collect and assess social, educational, economic, and vocational information.
• Develop and revise patient treatment plans and maintain records.
• Make referrals and perform follow-ups.
• Coordinate care with community providers as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and supportive follow-up counseling.
• Adhere to regulatory requirements and accrediting standards.
