Job summary

Behavioral Health Group (BHG) is the leading network of Joint Commission-accredited treatment centers focused on opioid addiction treatment. As a Licensed Counselor, you will assist patients in identifying strengths to achieve social, educational, and occupational goals, and support a drug-free life under regulatory guidelines.

You will report to the Counselor Supervisor or Program Director, ensuring adherence to schedules, program policies, and all license requirements while coordinating care

Qualifications

• Active Substance abuse/Social work licensure or certification for Michigan.
• Behavioral health experience preferred.
• Ability to make decisions and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive issues.
• Understanding of human behavior and rehabilitation of drug-dependent patients.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular alcohol and drug counseling sessions and group sessions.
• Orient patients to treatment program operations and procedures.
• Collect and assess social, educational, economic, and vocational information.
• Develop and revise patient treatment plans and maintain records.
• Make referrals and perform follow-ups.
• Coordinate care with community providers as needed.
• Provide crisis intervention and inter-agency documentation.
• Attend conferences, meetings, and training programs.
