Job summary

City of Springfield Public Library is seeking a diligent library clerk to perform clerical tasks, check materials in and out, and assist patrons with directions and policies.

Reporting to the Branch Manager and Central Library Manager of Borrower's Services, the role includes processing holds, managing patron records, handling cash, and preparing monthly statistics, with opportunities to work nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to interact effectively with staff and the public.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Check library materials in and out and assist borrowers.
• Process overdue items and handle cash and notices.
• Prepare monthly statistics.
• Manage patron holds and patron records.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
