Job summary

The City of Springdale Public Library is seeking a diligent Circulation Clerk who works with the Circulation Supervisor to deliver excellent customer service at the circulation desk. You will handle checkouts, returns, holds, fines, and assist patrons using self-check stations.

Responsibilities include shelving, materials processing, training new staff, and maintaining accurate borrower records while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with related training or coursework.
• Experience with library circulation systems and patron services preferred.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patron records and data.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service at the public service desks and answer questions.
• Check materials in/out, place holds, update borrower accounts and collect fines.
• Shelve materials, perform shelf-reading and maintain organization per Dewey.
• Assist with opening/closing procedures and training new staff.
• Support other Circulation team duties and processing of items.
