Job summary

Pueblo City County Library District is hiring a part-time Security Officer to help maintain a welcoming, safe environment across library locations. The role includes patrolling facilities, enforcing policies, and providing courier services between branches.

The officer supports staff and community members with information and directions while adhering to Code of Conduct. Responsibilities include incident reporting, responding to disturbances, and staying current on PCCLD programs.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience in a public-facing security or service role.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies and enforce library policies with diplomacy and tact.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus and a valid Colorado driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere for library patrons and staff.
• Patrol library facilities and respond promptly to safety or security concerns.
• Explain library policies, de-escalate conflicts, and escort disruptive individuals when needed.
• Transport library materials between locations as needed.
• Prepare incident reports and daily activity records in a timely, compliant manner.
• Assist in emergency procedures and liaise with local authorities when appropriate.
