Job summary

Pueblo City-County Library District is seeking a Security Officer Substitute to work part-time and on-call across multiple branches. The role centers on maintaining a welcoming library environment while ensuring public safety and enforcing library policies.

You will patrol facilities, assist patrons, document incidents, and respond to emergencies under supervision of the Security Services Manager. Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED and two years of public-facing experience.
• De-escalation training is strongly preferred.
• Bilingual English/Spanish skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and welcome library patrons.
• Patrol premises and enforce PCCLD rules and policies.
• Explain policies and de-escalate conflicts with patrons.
• Prepare incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Assist with emergencies per the Emergency Action Plan.
• Secure the library during opening/closing and monitor alarms.
